The following is an Essay written by one of my long term slaves. This slave is currently bound to me via a $10,000 legally binding debt contract as well as ongoing monitoring via phone, computer, and of course my ongoing attention. He is quite obedient (a trait I value in my long term slaves) and nearly never argues with my commands. However after a challenging day of obedience I made him write the following essay. I think you will enjoy it...

If you enter the term "power of obedience" in a very well-known internet search engine, the first results page lists only links connected to Christian belief. The corresponding web pages state lots of bible quotes. Faith in and obedience to a supreme being, so can be read on these sites, would lead the faithful and obedient to enlightenment, i.e. the perception of the supremacy of that being, and finally to get something, abstract or concrete, back from that supreme being.

Although, the topic at hand is not classic religion, but obedience towards another person in a BDSM-like relationship, more specifically with a dominant female, let us call her Mistress, and a slave as the counterpart. The aforementioned supreme being would then be substituted by the Mistress, and the relationship could as well be seen as a religious context which the use of religion-associated language like worshiping, ritual being faithful etc. illustrates. Any religious text on obedience to a God could easily be rewritten to the perspective of a slave onto the Mistress.

For a more thorough consideration of the topic, at first the concept of obedience has to be defined. An off-the-shelf dictionary defines obedience as the willingness to do what you are told or expected to do. Basically, that means to give up free will and autonomy and and instead accept the authority of somebody else without questioning.

In what way can this be the source of power, and additionally, to whom?

The more trivial side is the power the Mistress can exert over a slave. The more obedient a slave is, the more unrestricted this power becomes, and with total obedience of a slave, a Mistress automatically becomes the supreme being mentioned in the introduction - some slaves prefer the term "Goddess".

On the other side of the Mistress-slave-relationship is the power a slave receives through obedience.

In submission to the Mistress, a slave is forced to focus on the will, the wishes and the rulings of that Mistress. This focusing clears a slave's mind of lowly ordinary thoughts, needs and likings - basically of all self-reference. This makes a slave much more dedicated, stronger and hard-working in pursuing what the Mistress requires. This also empowers a slave to make sacrifices for the Mistress, to depart with unhealthy habits, and to better her-/himself. By obedience, a slave is granted the capacity to please the Mistress, which in turn should give a slave ultimate pleasure.

Obedience also can lower inhibitions by transferring the responsibility for a slave's actions to the Mistress. By this, Mistress can penetrate even deeper into the slave's mind, world, everything. Of course legally, the slave stays responsible for everything done.

In conclusion, the power a slave draws from obedience is naturally not power over Mistress, but power over oneself, in order to improve, to outgrow the own shortcomings and to appreciate Mistress - to find enlightenment. In the end, the submission, the obedience of a slave pleases Mistress, and that is the fulfillment of the purpose of a slave.

Obedience is pleasure!
