Perhaps things work in a different way in the US. I pay a nominal amount per year via a dental insurance plan. Never had a problem with a bad dentist in 51 years.

i have insurance still had to pay 600 for a root canal not including the crown after being quoted 450 now i have to pay another 300 for a crown
