Cash Verified Slaves
So recently I have had a few emails from newbie dommes asking for advice about timewasters. Firstly, I do not hold myself to be the all knowing wisdom on such matters as it all boils down to personal experience. Secondly, I am no where near as established and experienced as certain dommes, so their advice is perhaps more valuable than mine? Anyhow, I have put together a few top tips from Mistress Lulu for the newbies, and I hope it helps those who need it.
#1. Be in control for the right reasons!
So you wanna be a findom eh? Fabulous. First thing you need to do is ask yourself WHY you want to be a financial domme. Are you struggling with money? Can't hold down a vanilla job? Got too much on your plate to work? Just like the idea of free money? If you answered yes to any of these questions then findom is NOT FOR YOU! Findom is a genuine fetish and unless ALL aspects of the fetish turn you on (not just the idea of cash raining fromt the sky) then you won't succeed as a findom. True finsubs will be able to sniff you out from miles away and will know you aren't genuine.
#2. Do your homework.
Research, learn and grow. There are plenty of blogs, forums and e-books on the internet for you to find out all you need to know about financial dominaton. There is nothing wrong with asking for help, but don't ask if you haven't bothered to try and learn the answers for yourself. This makes you look too lazy to find out the information and many dommes will take offense to being pestered about facts that are right in front of you.
#3. Be Unique.
So you've seen a domme with so many finsubs that she craps diamonds and you want to be just like her? Awesome. It's great to have goals, but don't make the silly mistake of copying a dommes style, pictures, profile etc. This REALLY rubs dommes up the wrong way and is likely to get you ousted from the community within minutes. Contrary to popular belief, many dommes do network and are friendly with one another, so if you piss one of them off, chances are your pissing off a large chunk of the community. Remember, shit sticks! Find out what turns YOU on (not what you think subs want to hear). Market yourself on your own skills and experience and play to your stregnths.
#4. Don't be Needy.
Time and time again I see findoms falling at the first hurdle and forgetting their etiquette. Submissives do not want to see you throwing a tantrum because you've not made your first million within a week of signing up as a findom. Moaning that you can't find a piggy says more than a few negative things. 1. That you aren't enough of a competant domme for any submissives to want to serve you. 2. You look like you NEED the money more than you want to excercise your own sexuality. Advertising yourself constantly with the same copy and paste message will also have subs scrolling past your content. Instead immerse yourself in interesting topics about the fetish on forums and boards, get involved, get your name out there. Blog about your experiences and show yourself to be classy and refined. Less "Fuck you pay me" and more "Interesting theory, let me elaborate on my own thoughts and experiences".
#5. Stop Timewasters in their Tracks!
Having a few people waste your time may have really de-moralised you about findom. It happens to all of us at some point. It can make a trusting domme into a paranoid and suspicious one, but you will learn how to tell them apart from genuine submissives. My advice is to firstly never play on the promise of payment. If a finsub wants to send tribute, he will. If he is promising a payment after a skype call or an intimate conversation or a findom game, your going to get your time wasted. If a sub is coming on very strong, being sexually explicit and wanting to play, make it clear that you expect tribute up front before participating. If they are genuine, they will have no problem in sending that tribute first. This is very different from DEMANDING payment from anyone who says "Hello" to you however. Learn to seperate the conversations that are general and friendly from those that are sexually explicit and directly related to serving you.
If your an experienced domme, please feel free to add any of your own top tips etc. or if you do anything differently I'd love to hear about it.
