Submission

Submission, for me, has a deeply sexual component. I want to feel the control of women to whom I am sexually attracted, and I am sexually attracted to dominant women. This part of submission causes me, and I suspect many of my fellow male subs, especially those of us who submit virtually, to stray on occasion. Play periods do not always coincide with the drives of an oversexed sub with an Internet connection and free time on his hands. It's far too easy to stray into the web of another unsuspecting Domme, by no fault on her part, to find the high of servitude when your true owner happens to be unavailable to provide it for you. We are just like addicts calling every dealer they know when their supply has ran dry--no self control, desperate for our fix. This is the side of submission that I have focused on for too long.

The other aspect of submission is more noble, intimate, and rewarding. It is about the relationship between the submissive and his master and the bond of trust that builds between them. The sexual component is the means to achieve this higher goal, not the end itself. Sexual arousal for the sub is the equivalent of the dog's treat as a reward for obediently heeling at his master's side. Unfortunately for us submissive dogs, the Internet supplies us with a nearly unlimited supply of that treat. Chastity is a very appealing option to avoid falling into this trap, but it does not work for all situations, including my own. That leaves willpower as the only path to a fulfilling online D/s relationship. I only hope that I can muster enough of it.
