Of course, I am well aware that findommes are sometimes looked down upon by others in the BDSM industry. Mostly, I ignore any disparagers and go on my merry way. Block and move on. Having dealt with my fair share of a-holes (figuratively...not literally), I'm used to the same old bs you often hear spouting out the mouths of the uneducated and hypercritical.

For example: I just had a very short conversation with a sub over on Collarspace. When he asked me why I told him he wouldn't be able to serve me, I very politely told him to read my profile, which makes it perfectly clear. I also wished him the best and said "to each their own, best of luck on your journey". Then came his 4 paragraph rant (something along the lines of 'why would anyone ever pay someone they didn't know and findoms are just taking advantage and you're probably not who you say you are, ooh I've heard all the horror stories!'). He proceeded to block me. I skimmed most of it but what really made me laugh is that his reply began with "To each their own, yes, I agree. What you said is perfect for sites like these." So not only is he petty and closed-minded, he's a hypocrite, too. Right. And he wonders why I wouldn't want someone like him serving me...

Mostly, these sorts of interactions amuse me for a few minutes and then are forgotten about. Irrelevant. But sometimes they anger me. You'd think that others in the BDSM industry would understand that NO fetish is so extreme or bizarre as to be unfeasible, and just because they don't enjoy or understand something, it doesn't give them the right to shit all over it. If it's between two consenting adults - why do they care so much? So yeah, sometimes I feel the need to have a bit of a rant myself. Times like this I just have to remind myself - these aren't the type of people you can rationalise with. Wilful ignorance and belligerence are two of the most unattractive traits one could ever possess, and these people have it in spades.

Funny how sometimes the very people who claim to not fit in in the "vanilla world" and are grateful to finally be understood are so quick to judge when something makes them uncomfortable instead.
