I've had a couple long-term subs bow out recently because of anxiety and depression issues, pinpointing findom as making them worse. One I actively humiliated and degraded, the other I just teased; obviously both I drained regularly. It has me wondering if findom is necessarily destructive, or if there is a healthy way to indulge in the fetish.

On the one hand I feel like it is the client's responsibility to know their limits and not pursue a relationship that is harmful to them, but on the other hand as a Domme I want to have a positive effect on my clients overall.

I have a feeling the subs that left will eventually come back to the fetish, whether with me or someone else, simply because they lack self-control and want the instant gratification it brings over long term health. I'm torn on an ethical standpoint if that becomes the Domme's problem to deal with too, or if it is the sole responsibility of the client who chooses to engage in self-destructive behavior. They are adults after all, I'm not here to mother anyone. That said, I'm also not here to intentionally prey on anyone who would be better off not indulging in findom.

Findom is consensual kink after all, I want to think there is a way to play it without causing more harm than fun. Maybe that isn't the case for everyone, but for some. Any thoughts?
