Let's talk about FinDom.
FinDom is something I personally offer among other things, but time and time again I, and many other Findommes out there get abusive messages telling Us we're a "parasite" that We're "scum" and that We're bringing "a bad taste to the mouth of BDSM".
Thing is, I think this is absolutely ridiculous.
People are, of course and as ever, entitled to their opinion. They might not like FinDom, and that's utterly, totally okay. It's not for everyone, same as literally any other recognized fetish out there. I'm not really into scat, but you don't catch Me being out and out rude or pointing out why it's wrong to Mistresses offering toilet training.
But that's just it.
Like any other fetish, at its' core it's there because some people actually do enjoy it. It's a fetish borne of certain desires- actual financial subs enjoy the transfer of power through monetary means, among other reasons.
It's an activity performed and enjoyed by two consenting adults.
If you don't like it, just move on. No-one's forcing anyone to do anything- they are simply offering something that perhaps you're not interested in.
If a "FinDomme" is directly approaching you, harassing and messaging you demanding money without any prior consent and discussion, then that's the "begging" that should be discouraged. That's not really what FinDom is about, and is probably the kind of behaviour that has given it a bad name.
Of course, like with everything, there are chancers. People who are solely in it to make a quick buck and get out fast- unfortunately where there's money to be made, there will always be people like that. If subs for whatever reason make a judgement and choose to go to these people, then that's their decision, not the fault of every FinDomme out there.
However, that doesn't mean there aren't genuine, skilled FinDommes out there who really do offer a fulfilling, secure D/s relationship that benefits everyone involved, so it's cruel and unfair to label them all with this childish, Machiavellian, scooby doo villain-esque image.
I can promise you We're not all creeping around, cackling and wringing Our greedy hands, just waiting to steal poor innocent subbie's precious wallets when they didn't want to engage in FinDom at all.
Many FinDommes don't even approach anyone, simply state that FinDom is what they do, and let any interested Finsubs approach them instead.
