"That Value is Discipline. I think that's really the message to your subs. You teach them discipline and give them what they need to succeed and thrive in many ways." -- subjack
This is a message I received from one of My subs...a message I was glad to see. It shows that he understands the process and is growing from it. There is a difference between punishment and discipline. Many fail to understand this.
Punishment -- the infliction or imposition of a penalty as retribution for an offense
Discipline -- training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character
Discipline is the training, a teaching relationship between the Dom/me and the submissive...one that is designed to enhance the submissive's life and role in the relationship. Setting boundaries, correcting mistakes with explanation, etc... Punishment, on the other hand, is a means in which to discipline...a tool. I may have a submissive write 400 lines of "I will not cum again without permission" as a punishment. Yes, they are paying the consequences for their offense, but they will also be learning a lesson. That part is discipline.
I do things a certain way for the simple reason that I have learned over time what does and does not work when training a submissive. Grant you, everyone is different, and at times I will deviate from My norm. However, I have not done this for so long, and with the success rate that I have, without learning what works.
And what do I count as success? Is it the number of submissives I work with currently? Is it the amount of money or gifts? No...it is the lasting relationships I have with those I have worked with, and the growth in their own lives from having served Me. Even when one leaves service:
"No regrets what so ever … proud to be Yours. Now a new beginning for this one, and a sissy coming out of the closet finally along with your guidance and very grateful for this Ms Laura.
Thank You Mistress "
When a submissive is able to fully embrace themselves and flourish under your guidance...THAT is success in My book.
